Delhi Technological University traces its roots back to 1941 when it was established as Delhi Polytechnic. In 2009, it was granted university status and renamed Delhi Technological University. It has a rich history of providing quality technical education.

DTU is a state university affiliated with the University of Delhi. The university is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is also recognized by the Government of Delhi.

Admissions to undergraduate programs at DTU are based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main scores. For postgraduate courses, admissions are conducted through various entrance exams such as GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), CAT (Common Admission Test), and DTU's own entrance exam. Non-resident Indians (NRIs) and foreign nationals can also apply through specific admission processes.
